It has been exciting watching Paula DaSilva battle her way to the finish these last 14 weeks. I have known Paula for many years and all of Marriott is incredibly proud of her. She’s a great cook, as Ramsay quickly noted in the first and nearly every episode.
I have spoken with Paula several times since the show began, and was lucky enough to join her at the Week 3 screening. Always gracious when asked, she never gave an inkling as to how she did or where she finished. I knew she would do well and knew she was tough, but didn’t realize how well or how tough. What you saw was real, the highs and lows of working for Ramsay, the yelling and the compliments, the good and the bad. Through it all Paula stayed strong, showing what it takes to run a kitchen in a highly competitive business. Ramsay also deserves some credit and appreciation. Look past the tantrums, you’ll find a passion for cooking all chefs need and a talent for the craft that few chefs actually have. Paula has that passion and that talent.
Paula is a winner, a true winner no matter what the outcome of the show. She has been at the culinary helm of a very successful restaurant, 3030 Ocean, for several years, proving her talent on a nightly basis. We will miss the excitement of the show while we remain proud of having her on our team.
On behalf of every Marriott International culinary associate…Thank You Paula!
I will definitely check 3030 Ocean out on my next visit to Lauderdale. Great job Paula!

We all know that Paula is incredibly talented! But, what showed on TV was that in the midst of other gifted culinarians -- Paula was the one with class, composure and professionalism.
