The food world has always been a place for idea sharing and discussions of “what’s next?" Now, there is a whole community dedicated to thoughtful blasts of all subjects imaginable. I joined the social media site Twitter.com recently. I was unsure of the response I might get or if people were interested in reading anything in just 140 characters. Does this make me a foodtwit? If I am, there are thousands like me out there with a lot of great things to say.
I recently tweeted about breakfast and bar food. I was curious about what breakfast items were on peoples minds? I was amazed at how quickly responses came in extolling the virtues of breakfast from pancakes to granola. Can you write a recipe in 140 spaces? Tell me how I did with the flatbread dough recipe I tweeted on May 5. Attached are a few flatbreads you can make once the dough is mastered!
Twitter is an extension of this column and I hope it to be a good way to conduct a dialogue on food, hotels, and places to see. Not everything will be insightful or interesting to all, but follow me on twitter.com/chefnb and join the discussion!
