Touring a restaurant site while under construction is always an exhilarating experience. Seeing a blank canvas of drywall and duct work evolve into a thriving restaurant is something few chefs have the opportunity to experience. Flying cross country, with your benefactor and competitors, is something only the remaining chefs on Hell’s Kitchen can know.
Of all the contestants after Paula, I really liked Robert. He was the kind of guy that every kitchen needs, a hard worker and just downright funny. His medically dictated departure was just another dose of humanity for the show this year, and I agreed with Ramsay when he said Robert could have gone all the way. (But for that to have happened, Paula would have really had to stumble...not likely)
Back on the stoves and the chefs again struggled through the service. Andrea got a free pass from elimination consideration. Incredibly she used it to put Paula up on the block! That didn’t last long though; even Ramsay was a bit amused by the idea of Paula being the weakest link. In the end, they all survived to fight another day, another week, another service.
